Australia’s boards embrace AI, but governance gaps widen – Australian Cyber ​​Security Magazine

As AI and digital transformation continue to gain prominence on the boardroom agenda, most organizations lack the structures, skills and competencies required to manage the risks posed by AI systems that are now embedded in every workplace.

The research shows that 43% of Australian leaders have placed AI at the top of their strategic priorities and 61% of organizations have already put restrictions or guidelines in place on their employees’ use of AI. Yet only 13% of boards have appointed directors with AI expertise, and only 21% require directors to receive AI training. This imbalance suggests that AI capability in Australian boardrooms is not advancing fast enough to keep pace with company-wide adoption.
