Australian companies are rapidly advancing their investment in artificial intelligence (AI), but while confidence is high, readiness is lagging. Riverbed’s 2025 Global Survey found that only one in 10 AI projects in Australia have reached full deployment and only 35 percent of companies feel ready to implement AI at scale.
Organizations say they face several barriers to AI implementation. One of the most critical factors is data. Most IT leaders believe that their data quality is not sufficient for large-scale AI processes. While 88 percent agree that data quality is important, only 46 percent are fully confident in the accuracy and completeness of their data.
Many also recognize that the volumes of data consumed and generated by Ai exceed the capacity of their current infrastructure, with the added problem that most do not have a complete view of their systems due to their complexity and poor integration.
