The research found that while familiarity with AI is increasing, human judgment and accountability remain crucial when Australians make important financial decisions. More than four in five Australians (83 percent) say access to human interaction is important when it comes to their finances, particularly when making decisions about retirement and long-term investments.
Even among Australians who regularly use AI, trust in the technology when it comes to financial outcomes is plummeting. While more than a quarter of Australians say they use AI on a daily basis, only 9 percent would feel comfortable letting it determine their investment results.
Colonial First State’s head of technical services, Craig Day, said the results suggested Australians still placed a high value on professional advice and personal relationships when managing their finances.
