Australian software giant Atlassian has announced it will lay off about 10% of its workforce, or around 1,600 jobs, as part of a restructuring plan to boost artificial intelligence and enterprise sales.
The company’s shares rose more than 4% in extended trading on the Nasdaq.
The company expects total pretax charges of $225 million to $236 million related to the layoffs and office space reductions.
The move comes as the company looks to “rebalance” its resources to focus on the “future of teamwork in the AI era,” it said in a regulatory filing.
