AI gives us the chance to fix something we broke decades ago. Technology definitely makes work easier. But the real opportunity lies deeper. For the first time in a generation, the logic of how we organize work could actually change. Maybe we’ll finally have a reason to invest in the teams we’ve previously viewed as temporary. The question is whether we see it.
A marketing team spent six weeks approving the website copy. Simple things – hero text, product pages. They had done some research. They ran A/B tests. The new version surpasses the old one by far.
It should have taken thirty minutes. A vice president tried to revive the brand narrative “while we’re here.” Another called for three alternatives “to show the range of options.” Someone wanted device models, although only the words required approval. Another called for a competitive analysis, but this had no influence on the decision.
