Speak with Engadget, Apple said the function works with stereo, 5.1, 7.1 and Dolby Atmos Content so that your TV shows and films sound super immersive and as if the sound is coming at you from every angle.
Apple also gave a little glimpse into how the AirPods Pro and AirPods Max use head tracking to make sure the directional cues of the sound are accurately placed.
According to Engadget, “when you sit down to watch a movie or TV show, the included head-tracking feature will snap into place after realizing you’ve been looking in the same direction for a while.”
Then, when you get up to have a drink or open the door, the head-tracking technology will be reactivated as soon as you sit down again.
Connect your AirPods getting to your tvOS device should also be easy. Apple says this when you are familiar with your. near the device headphone or earphones, you will see a popup that you can use to connect immediately.
No soundbar needed
Although the Apple TV 4K already supported Dolby Atmos passthrough – a popular form of spatial audio – this new update means you can experience immersive cinema sound without the need for a complex speaker setup or expensive Dolby Atmos Soundbar. (Not that the AirPods Max are particularly budget-friendly).
And if you’re watching TV late at night, you can just plug your AirPods into your device so you can hear all the action without disturbing the people around you.
However, the rumor was not mentioned AirPods 3, and all of these new upgrades to the existing range could mean we’ll wait until the end of the year (at least) to see them.
