Apple confirmed in a statement too 9to5Mac that Garcia Martinez is leaving the company, while the company also says it will not tolerate any discrimination among its workers.

At Apple, we’ve always strived to create an inclusive, welcoming workplace where everyone is respected and accepted. Behavior that humiliates or discriminates against people for whom they are has no place here.

The former Facebook manager was hired to work on the App Store and the Apple News Advertising team, having previously led major advertising-related projects on Facebook. Things got bad when several Apple employees petitioned Garcia Martinez’s attitude.

As reported by 9to5Mac Garcia Martinez is apparently known today for sexist and misogynistic behavior. In his book, Chaos Monkeys, where he shares his experiences in Silicon Valley, there are several comments in which he diminishes the work of women in technology companies.

In one of the chapters of the book the executive says that women are “soft and weak” while in another it says that women “cannot make eye contact with a man while they are going down.”

“Most women in the Bay Area are soft and weak, spoiled and naive, despite their claims of worldliness, and generally full of shit. They have their self-centered claim feminism and ceaselessly extol their independence, but the reality is that due to the plague or foreign invasion they would become exactly the kind of useless baggage you would trade in for a box of shotgun shells or a canister of diesel. “

Garcia Martinez worked at Facebook from 2011 to 2013 and has been an entrepreneur since then because he had several projects of his own. While he was already integrated with Apple, the company decided to go ahead and fire the executive. However, it’s unclear why Apple didn’t investigate its behavior prior to hiring it.
