Apple CEO Tim Cook wants those involved in the deadly attack on the U.S. Capitol last week to be held accountable, even if that includes U.S. President Donald Trump.

“Everyone involved must be held accountable,” Cook said in a CBS This Morning interview posted online Tuesday.

“I think no one is above the law. We are a rule of law country.”

The remarks came during an interview agreed with Cook at Apple’s Silicon Valley headquarters to discuss an announcement by the company on Wednesday.

Cook did not specifically mention Trump, but said that anyone who played a role in the insurrection should be held accountable under the law.

“I don’t think we should let it go,” said Cook.

“This is something we have to be serious about. I think it’s important to hold people accountable.”

Tech giants Amazon, Apple and Google have severed all ties with Parler, the social media platform popular with some conservatives.

The three mega-corporations have accused the platform of continuing to publish violent news even after the attack by Trump supporters on the U.S. Capitol on January 6.

Twitter has suspended the president’s main account for the same reason.

Trump’s accounts were also banned from other major social media outlets such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Twitch after the Capitol violence.
