Two years after Apple first revealed its plans for Apple Intelligence and a smarter Siri that never fully materialized, Apple just unveiled a slew of new AI features and a smarter, more personalized Siri at WWDC.
Apple calls Siri AI an “all-new version of Siri” and says it is both more talkative and more powerful than the previous version of the intelligent assistant. During conversations, it has a more expressive voice that can be adjusted depending on the pace, expressiveness and accent.
Siri AI will be accessible system-wide, able to read what’s on the screen and interact with your apps. But Craig Federighi, Apple’s SVP of software development, said it was designed “with privacy at every step.” All queries are processed either on the device or in the cloud via Apple’s Private Cloud Compute.
