Anthropic urged it to resist threats to adopt AI technology for the US military

Artificial intelligence giant Anthropic should withstand Trump administration demands to hand over novel technologies for military use and Australia should push for global rules on artificial intelligence in warfare, says one of Australia’s top AI scientists.

University of NSW AI Institute chief scientist Toby Walsh called the government a “bully” after US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth threatened to invoke war powers against Anthropic that would force the $537 billion AI company to hand over its powerful technology.
