Anthropic, the AI firm behind the Claude chatbot, announced Thursday that it has raised $65 billion in funding, valuing the company at $965 billion post-funding. The move makes Anthropic the most valuable AI startup in the world, eclipsing its competitor OpenAI.
The deal marks a highly successful period of growth for Anthropic, once considered a smaller player in the global AI arms race. The widespread adoption of its products by large companies, especially after the launch of powerful coding assistants late last year, has made it a dominant player in the industry.
