Anthropic builds electricity and finances network upgrades for the introduction of data centers

Global artificial intelligence giant Anthropic has committed to paying for new power generation and upgrading local energy networks as it builds data centers in Australia, after announcing it would open an office in Sydney later this year.

Evan Frondorf, head of external partnerships and policy at Anthropic, told a Senate committee that the company would take the same approach as it rolls out its global data centers, including in the United States.
