Annapolis-based cybersecurity company Netography The company announced on Monday that it raised $ 45 million in a Series A round. It’s a stellar dollar amount to go to a Series A round that builds investor confidence in the seasoned cybersecurity entrepreneurs who run the team as well as the product.

The round was led by two venture capital firms: based in San Francisco Bessemer Venture Partner and cybersecurity-focused SYN company. Existing investors in the company, including Andreessen Horowitz, Mango Capital, Harpoon Ventures, and Wing venture capital, also participated. With growth capital, the focus is on recruitment.

The round comes just a few months after the network security leader Martin Rösch joined the company as CEO. He invented the open source intrusion prevention system Snort and served as CTO at Columbia-based Spring fire by acquiring $ 2.7 billion Cisco in 2013.
