The Google Pixel 8 series introduced AI-generated wallpapers, but older devices were left out. Android 15 beta version 3 includes a new option to share AI-generated wallpapers. The Share button is located on the new wallpaper preview screen, but the functionality is not working yet. Wallpapers are essential as they update the appearance of older phones. Google’s focus on AI led to AI-generated wallpapers in the Pixel 8 series. However, users with older Pixel phones cannot access these images. The Android 15 update may provide a solution to this issue. The Pixel 8 and 8 Pro came with AI wallpaper generation on the device, excluding the 8a model. The utility is a basic text-to-image model allowing customization of wallpapers. It also features a “They inspire me” button for creative options. Google updated Android 15 to beta 3, adding the option to share AI-generated wallpapers within the wallpaper picker UI. Despite the UI components in place, the sharing function does not currently work. The upcoming ability to share wallpapers will simplify the process. The new Share button is located on the revised card-style preview screen. The button is next to a pencil icon for message refinements. While the design resembles Google’s Emoji Workshop wallpapers, the sharing option is not operational yet. Users may have to wait for a future update to benefit from this feature.
