We’re excited for official news on Android 12, Google’s next big update to the mobile operating system, and we may have looked at it early on some big changes to the user interface only last week thanks XDA developer. But now thank you again XDA developerPerhaps we know something even more important: Android 12’s dessert name.
For years, versions of Android were also identified by dessert names, and each year dessert began with the next consecutive letter in the alphabet. Google left the dessert names in favor of digits with Android 10, but the company reportedly still uses dessert names internally. Android 11’s dessert name was apparently Red velvet cake, for example. Name of Android 12? XDA developer says that It’s snow cone.
Snow Cone is … okay. But if I’m being honest with you, I can’t imagine the last time I ate a snow cone. And “Snow Cone” doesn’t make my mouth water like some other Google classics like “Ice Cream Sandwich”.
The skeleton crew The edge this beautiful monday (it’s a National holiday here in the US) felt we could do better. So we came up with 17 other dessert names that start with “S” that we think would be more delicious names for Android 12:
- Salted caramel
- Salt water taffy
- sheet cake
- Sponge cake
- Strawberry shortcake
- Soft serve
- Sugar biscuit
Hope you are hungry after reading all of these names because I am sure of it.
Other recent reports could hint at other new rumors about Android 12. According to XDA developer“We learned that Google internally labeled some of its changes to the notification UI as the beginning of the” Path to Material NEXT “,” which could indicate more changes along the way for Google Material design guidelines. Android 12 also allows changes to be made to the pattern unlock interface, the Quick Settings panel, and more.
Google may implement a one-handed mode for Android 12, XDA developer also reported. And Google could come up with a path for Pixel phones Check which way your head is pointing to prevent your screen from rotating when, for example, you are lying on your side on your bed.
