It looks like we are going to have to wait quite a bit before we get to see any next-generation gaming GPUs. There might be some refreshes, but given the current memory crisis, even those feel unlikely. But, according to Kepler_L2, AMD is expected to launch its next-gen solutions after NVIDIA’s, so we might be in for a really long wait.
It was recently stated that AMDs’ next-generation RDNA 5 GPUs would be utilizing the TSMC N3P node and launch around the mid of 2027. Then we got the latest report on NVIDIA’s next-gen RTX 60 “Rubin” lineup, which is currently expected to launch in the second half of 2027, most likely a late 2027 launch. As per Kepler, AMD will be launching its GPUs after NVIDIA’s RTX 60 lineup.
The reason behind AMD launching after NVIDIA is said to be NVIDIA’s margins, and that despite AMD’s best pricing strategy to counter their launch, NVIDIA can get away with a price drop.
