AMD underscores growing cloud momentum with new Amazon EC2 instances for HPC

According to AWS, Amazon EC2 Hpc6a instances are up to 65 percent better value for money compared to similar Amazon EC2 instances. Hpc6a will help clients run their most compute-intensive HPC workloads such as genomics, computational fluid dynamics, weather forecasting, financial risk modeling, EDA for semiconductor design, computational engineering, and seismic imaging.

There is a growing preference for AMD across the HPC industry, as evidenced by the AMD EPYC processors, which power 73 supercomputers on the latest Top500 list and hold 70 HPC world records1. The new Hpc6a instances offer the leadership and skills of 3approx Generation AMD EPYC processors to compute-optimized Amazon EC2 instances used for highly complex HPC workloads.

“Our processors supply all levels of HPC, from exascale systems in research laboratories to flexible HPC cloud computing instances such as the new Amazon EC2 Hpc6a instances. AMD EPYC processors offer a powerful solution for …
