AMD Takes Lead Over Intel in Brand Recognition; NVIDIA Surges to 6th Place with Strongest Increase in Brand Value

According to a report from BrandZ by Kantar for 2024, AMD has surpassed Intel in terms of brand awareness, while NVIDIA has seen significant growth and ranks in the top 10. AMD’s brand recognition has increased due to its advancements in the AI industry, particularly in professional sectors. Their Instinct line of AI accelerators has been well-received by customers, outperforming Intel’s Gaudi series. Additionally, AMD’s new AI-focused consumer offerings, such as the Strix Point APUs, have been widely adopted in the market, leading Kantar to place AMD ahead of Intel in overall brand value.

Kantar’s report ranks the top brands globally based on various factors, including customer sentiment and financial data. In the Enterprise Technology & Services Platforms category, AMD has made a strong mark by moving up the ranks and achieving a brand value of $51.86 million. This demonstrates the company’s value in the eyes of consumers and is not to be confused with market capitalization.

AMD’s brand value has increased by 53%, while Intel’s has increased by 23% compared to 2023, indicating AMD’s significant progress in the market. AMD is currently ranked 41st, while Intel is ranked 48th. AMD was listed among the “10 fastest-growing companies” this year, alongside NVIDIA, which achieved a remarkable 178% growth in brand value. The top five brands by market value were Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and McDonald’s, with NVIDIA ranking sixth, showcasing its dominant position in the tech industry.

The battle between AMD and Intel remains close, with AMD currently holding a slight advantage. While Intel’s next-generation platform, Lunar Lake, may impact these rankings in the future, at present, AMD has emerged as the leader in terms of brand value race against Intel.
