Advanced Micro Devices AMD, the chipmaker behind Ryzen processors and AI accelerators, brought Perplexity’s Portable Computer to supported Ryzen AI Max Windows systems. Shares were down about 4.45% at $602.585 at 11.07am ET time on September 28.

Perplexity subscribers can run tasks and repeat workflows on their own PCs without spending inference credits. AMD’s chips pair CPU and GPU power with shared memory, giving those agents room to work alongside everyday apps. More demanding reasoning can still move to the cloud.

That gives AMD a practical test for its AI PC pitch: will people use local agents often enough to make the hardware matter? The image puts the share price 110.64% above its $286.07 GF Value estimate. That gap leaves plenty riding on real adoption, not just a working demo.
