AMD signs 0m deal with Nutanix to develop infrastructure platform for agentic AI applications

AMD has signed a $250 million deal with cloud platform company Nutanix.

Under the terms of the agreement, AMD will purchase $150m of Nutanix stock and fund up to $100m of co-developed engineering and go-to-market initiatives that support a “full-stack AI infrastructure platform” that powers agentic AI applications across on-premises, Edge, and cloud environments.

The deal will also see Nutanix integrate AMD’s ROCm and Enterprise AI software into its Nutanix Cloud and Kubernetes platforms through the deployment of AMD Epyc CPUs and Instinct GPUs.

The equity investment is expected to close in the second quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions, with the first jointly developed agentic AI platform slated for release in late 2026. This timeline underscores the companies’ “commitment to rapid execution and delivery,” AMD said in a statement.
