AMD’s response to Qualcomm and Intel’s AI laptop chips is set to launch in just a few weeks, although this technically counts as a delay. According to a report by Checking the Notebook, the first Asus laptops featuring AMD’s Ryzen AI 300 chips, codenamed Strix Point, were initially scheduled for release on July 8 but have been pushed back to July 17. Best Buy has also adjusted its shipping dates from July 15 to July 28.

This means that there are now two weeks until the official launch of the AMD Ryzen AI 300 laptops, followed by a four-week wait until they are actually available for purchase. This delay may disappoint consumers who were eagerly anticipating the new AMD chips to compete with the offerings from Qualcomm and Intel in the AI laptop market.

Overall, while the launch of the AMD Ryzen AI 300 series laptops is imminent, the delay in availability may dampen the initial excitement surrounding these new chips. It remains to be seen how these laptops will perform in comparison to their Qualcomm and Intel counterparts, and whether they will be able to make a significant impact in the competitive AI laptop market.
