Since the world desperately needed another GPU that people couldn’t buy, AMD decided to release it a limited “Midnight Black” version the Radeon RX 6800 XT early Wednesday morning where it sold out before most people even saw the card was there.
You might be thinking, “Why would you want to release a limited edition version of something that is practically a collector’s item, even without a repaint?” (The recent GPUs from AMD are even rarer than those from Nvidia, though both are They currently command two to three times their selling price on eBay.)
Or you might be thinking, “When exactly did AMD announce a new GPU? I don’t remember that. “That’s because the company didn’t officially announce this: according to VideoCardz, AMD emailed its fan base to the AMD Red Team Community around midnight to look for the card at 6:00 am, an announcement that has not been kept secret, to say the least.
Personally, I’m just wondering: if AMD really wanted to put graphics cards in the hands of its fans, why not check their emails or email out unique, non-transferable passwords or give them away or basically do something else that attracts them the same website Where bots, scalpers, and everyone else are already looking for a website that some people’s browser has been set to update all day?
#GameOnAMD Summarizes the experience. The red team link led to a page where you cannot buy. Only saw it come from the main store and adding it to the cart never worked. Cool. I feel so included in this exclusive offer. pic.twitter.com/YomensLwQY

There are possible solutions to these problems, but the gaming industry doesn’t seem particularly interested in finding them. Even so, AMD must be credited for selling it at the original retail price of $ 649 instead of charging more.
It’s not clear how many Midnight Black cards were produced. At the time of going to press there were two buyers try to haggle their confirmed orders on eBay, while a third had drawn their listing due to an unspecified error.
AMD tells The edge It continues to focus on bringing the latest Radeon graphics cards to as many gamers as possible at SEP, and that includes the brief appearance of the AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Midnight Black.
“We will continue to provide reference cards on AMD.com and will continue to replenish the offering for the foreseeable future,” said the company I hadn’t succeeded the last time I wrote about a similar claim. Since then, however, AMD has shipped (very briefly) at least three GPUs that I am familiar with.
