Amazon has been trying to get into gaming with some internal efforts over the past few years. However, the company wasn’t too successful. It was released last year crucible After six years of development and shortly after it was released, it sent the game back into beta before finally being discontinued. But that’s not as bad as what some players are reporting with the company’s newest game. Multiple users Reddit and the forums of the game (above Game spot) reported that New world bricked their EVGA-branded GeForce RTX 3090.

The problem seems to affect the EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 specifically, which is by no means an affordable GPU. The Founders Edition of the RTX 3090 already has an MSRP of $ 1,499, but this EVGA model actually costs $ 1,889, according to the EVGA website. And considering how inflated GPU prices have been over the past year, there’s a good chance some gamers have spent a lot more. Reviews from users mention that the game suddenly stopped working in various scenarios so it doesn’t seem to be triggered by any specific action.

Most of the reports seem to come from EVGA users, but some have mentioned the same problem with Gigabyte GPUs as well. As it appears New world causes the RTX 3090 GPUs to overheat, and the New world team has since replied in the forums of the game. The developer has recognized the problem and it is recommended that for the time being, users disable any overrides that are set in their NVIDIA Control Panel graphics settings. The company also suggests limiting the frame rate to 60 fps in the game settings to lower the GPU load. However, it said nothing about a permanent solution.

To be fair to Amazon Games, this is a beta version of the game so expect some issues. However with New world Breaking a GeForce RTX 3090 GPU is a serious issue at this point in development. Hopefully the company will release a fix soon and GPU owners can get a replacement decently quickly. That could be difficult considering how many reports there have been and what happens next Component shortage, however.
