Amazon Web Services: Latest Updates in Amazon Bedrock, AWS Amplify Gen 2, Amazon RDS, and More (May 13, 2024)

The AWS Summit is taking place worldwide, with the latest event being the AWS Singapore Summit. At the Developer Lounge booth, AWS staff and ASEAN community members were present, with AWS Community speakers giving talks on serverless, Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS), security, and generative AI.

Some recent releases include Amazon Titan Text Premier on Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Bedrock Studio in public preview, and provisioned performance pricing for Agents on Amazon Bedrock. Additionally, MongoDB Atlas integration with Amazon Bedrock, pgvector 0.7.0 support for Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL, and new regions for Amazon EC2 Inf2 instances were announced.

Amazon Polly’s new generative engine is now available, as is AWS Amplify Gen 2. Amazon EMR Serverless includes performance monitoring with Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus, and Amazon MemoryDB released new condition keys for IAM policies. Amazon Lightsail has a larger instance package, ECR now supports removable cache for GitLab Container Registry, and AWS Resilience Hub has expanded its capabilities.

Other interesting projects and blog posts include building games with LLM on Amazon Bedrock, troubleshooting with Amazon Q, and getting started with Amazon Q in VS Code. AWS Open Source News and Updates are also available.
