The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Space Accelerator – India program is the first of its kind in the country, resulting from a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by AWS with the Indian Space Research Organization and the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Center. The program aims to support 24 promising technology startups in the space sector. These startups will receive technical expertise, training, and mentorship on AWS, with a focus on segments such as spacecraft propulsion, satellite imaging, weather analysis, and more.

Selected startups will benefit from up to $100,000 in AWS credits and support to develop and scale their solutions. The accelerator program is backed by T-Hub and Minfy, an AWS Premier Partner. Participants will explore leveraging spatial data and building solutions using AWS technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics.

Clint Crosier, Head of AWS Aerospace and Satellite Business, highlighted India’s growth potential in the space sector as a key reason for launching this country-specific accelerator program. The 24 chosen startups will have the opportunity to showcase their solutions to industry leaders in July/August 2024.

Out of the 24 startups, five are based in Tamil Nadu, five in Maharashtra, and four in Karnataka. Some of the participating startups include Aero2Astro from Chennai, Agnihotri Aerospace from Mangaluru, Brahmaandco Spacetech from Mumbai, CoralComp from Hyderabad, and Insight360.ai from Port Blair.

Overall, the AWS Space Accelerator – India program is set to provide a platform for innovative startups in the Indian space sector to enhance their technology and business capabilities, supported by AWS, T-Hub, Minfy, and industry leaders in the space domain.
