Amazon has announced a major investment of 10 billion euros ($10.7 billion) in Germany to expand its cloud infrastructure and logistics network. This move is expected to create 4,000 new jobs, bringing Amazon’s total permanent workforce in Germany to over 40,000. The new jobs will be spread across three new logistics centers in various cities and municipalities.

The investment in Germany is part of Amazon’s broader commitment to the country, with a total planned investment of 17.8 billion euros. This includes a significant investment in the AWS European sovereign cloud, which is set to launch its first AWS Region in Brandenburg in 2025. Additionally, Amazon plans to invest 8.8 billion euros through 2026 to further develop its cloud infrastructure in the Frankfurt Rhein-Main area.
