Amazon SNS recently announced the public preview of message privacy. The new SNS capability identifies PII data and other sensitive information in transit and leverages pattern matching, machine learning models, and privacy policies to simplify privacy and compliance in applications that share large amounts of data.

As one of the first managed services on AWS, SNS uses the publish/subscribe model for message delivery and supports both standard and FIFO topics. For standard topics only, owners can now enable message privacy to scan messages for sensitive data in real-time and provide detailed audit reports or block message delivery.
