Amazon India shared updates on its key commitments for India on Sunday, announcing that it will generate a total of more than 11.6 lakh (1.16 million) direct and indirect jobs, enable nearly $5 billion in cumulative exports and over 40 lakh (4 million) MSMEs has digitized in India to date. In January 2020, at the first edition of its annual Amazon Smbhav event, the company pledged to digitize 1 crore (10 million) MSMEs, enable $10 billion in cumulative exports and create 20 lakh (2 million) jobs in India by 2025 create.
Amazon is on track to deliver on those pledges, even doubling its export pledge from India to now allow for $20 billion worth of cumulative exports from India through 2025, the company said.
