At AWS re:Invent 2023, a preview of Amazon Q Business was announced, an AI-driven generative assistant that can answer questions, provide summaries, generate content, and complete tasks securely based on data and information in your business systems. Amazon Q Business allows for the implementation of a private and secure generative AI assistant, enabling users in your organization to be more creative, data-driven, efficient, prepared, and productive. Following customer feedback, Amazon Q Business now includes new features and a preview of Amazon Q Apps. The key features of Amazon Q Business include seamless connection to over 40 popular business data sources, secure access to content, web-based chat assistant for answering questions and analyzing data trends, and customizable generative assistants with enterprise-level access controls.
The new features of Amazon Q Business now include an enhanced end-user web experience, data connectors and pre-designed plugins, administrative controls and security barriers, improved enterprise-level security and management, integration with AWS services, and the ability to create and share applications through Amazon Q Apps. With Amazon Q Apps, users in your organization can easily create IA-driven applications based on data without any prior coding experience. These apps can be shared across the organization for enhanced collaboration and innovation.
Amazon Q Business is now generally available in certain regions with two subscription pricing options: Amazon Q Business Lite and Amazon Q Business Pro. The Lite subscription provides basic functionality, while the Pro subscription includes access to all features, Amazon Q Apps (preview), and Amazon Q in QuickSight (Reader Pro).
