A major PS5 console restock went live on Amazon US today.
This surprised buyers without any prior notice from Amazon.
This marked the first major decline in US stocks on Amazon since its November 12 release date.
The console is estimated to have been snapped up by thousands of buyers. Most orders are expected to be delivered between December 30, 2020 and January 5, 2021.
Unfortunately, the majority of buyers were late. Although the website still stated that the PS5 was in stock, I received an error message when trying to add it to the cart.
This is shown when the product is already out of stock but the website front end has not been updated.
How long did Amazon US inventory last?
The PS5 Disc Edition was in stock just after 11 a.m. EST and only lasted 9 minutes before they were all gone. It was back in stock just before 4:00 p.m. EST and only stuck for a minute.
Meanwhile, the PS5 Digital Edition was in stock just before 12 p.m. EST and only took 2 minutes.
Both editions of the PS5 were only available for a maximum of 12 minutes. This is no surprise how quickly the PS5 sold out at other retailers.
When will the PS5 be back in stock at Amazon US?
There was no official announcement from Amazon regarding PS5 reorders.
However, a reliable insider has suggested that there will be more replenishment in January 2021. Coupled with a significant increase in supply from Sony at the beginning of the year.
Our sources have a Main PS5 reorder from Target and constantly monitor the situation at other retailers.
