Only a few weeks after its largest online event, Prime Day, the platforms of the leading online retailer Amazon experienced a global outage late last Sunday, July 11th, until the early hours of Monday morning. This is the most recent incident of a major online platform and service provider experiencing business disruptions on a global scale, but this outage was limited to a few hours and Amazon has reported that its website and country stores are now back online.

According to the Downdetector outage monitoring website, more than 38,000 people reported problems with the web platform of the world’s largest online retailer, mainly problems within the online shopping portal.
