Amazon has introduced a new deployment option called Amazon OpenSearch Serverless, now available in Western Europe (London) and South Asia Pacific (Mumbai) regions. This new feature simplifies the process of running search and analytics workloads by eliminating the need for complex infrastructure management. OpenSearch Serverless automatically scales resources to ensure fast data ingestion rates and quick response times, even during changes in usage patterns and application demand.
The compute capacity used for data ingestion, searching, and querying in OpenSearch Serverless is measured in OpenSearch Compute Units (OCU). Support for this new feature is now available in a total of 11 regions globally, including US East (Ohio), US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (Ireland), Western Europe (Paris), Western Europe (London), and South Asia Pacific (Mumbai). More information on the availability of Amazon OpenSearch service can be found in the List of AWS Regional Services. For detailed documentation on OpenSearch Serverless, readers can refer to the official documentation provided by Amazon.
