According to a recent job posting, Amazon Web Services plans to “completely rethink” the way its network is managed. The call is for someone leading a project the company expects will be “critical to the growth of the AWS network and Amazon as a whole.”

The posting indicates that a key part of the project will be to “build a suite of pilot aircraft services from the ground up.” The company’s network fabric teams will use these services to scale and manage AWS’s massive networks. An Amazon spokesman declined to comment.
