The U.S. Department of Energy announced new partnerships with 24 major technology firms, including Amazon (AMZN, Financials), Google, and Microsoft, to advance the Genesis Mission, a national program to apply artificial intelligence to energy research and scientific discovery.The Genesis Mission will employ AI to automate experiment design, expedite simulations, and produce predictive models to advance renewable energy, manufacturing, and medicine discovery, according to DOE officials.Accenture, AMD, Anthropic, Amazon Web Services, Cerebras, CoreWeave, Dell, Google, HPE, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Nvidia, OpenAI, Oracle, Palantir, and xAI are participating.
