Amazon Web Services, the cloud computing division of Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN), said on Tuesday that it is unable to restore access to a facility in Bahrain following damage sustained during the Iran war.
AWS also said access cannot be restored to one of its three data-hosting availability zones in the United Arab Emirates.
The company said the damage in Bahrain affected multiple availability zones. AWS availability zones consist of one or more data centres within the same geographic region and are designed to provide infrastructure redundancy.
Damage Exceeded AWS Regional Resilience Capacity
In a status update, AWS said the infrastructure damage extended across multiple availability zones and exceeded the level its regional and multi-availability zone services were designed to withstand.
