AWS and Red Hat have jointly introduced a managed service that enables customers of both companies to manage containerized applications over the cloud.
With the Red Hat OpenShift Service for AWS (ROSA), Red Hat customers can build cloud-based Kubernetes clusters, and build and scale their containerized applications without having to manage the underlying infrastructure.
With ROSA, organizations can move local Red Hat OpenShift workloads to AWS more smoothly. This managed service is available in addition to tighter integration with a number of AWS services.
Existing AWS customers can also leverage the partnership by deploying container clusters without going through Red Hat. Billing and technical support are handled directly through AWS with no upfront investment required. Customers are only billed for the container clusters and nodes they use.
