Amazon adds two new governance principles that reflect how the company has evolved as the tech giant faces increasing regulatory scrutiny and increasingly negative public perception.
The additions are a big deal considering how the 14 Existing Governance Principles run Amazon’s day-to-day operations. It’s the first time Amazon has been listed since 2015 when the company added a 14th Principle called “Learn and Be Curious”.
The new principles will be added just days before Jeff Bezos’ resignation as CEO and will be handed over to Amazon Web Services chief Andy Jassy on Monday.
