AI Vegans: Why Generation Z is turning against chatbots

A competition on the video game Warframe was the last straw for Bella.

Everyone on their gaming team only had three days to submit their own artwork. She was nervous about the tight deadline and was undeterred – until the competition accepted a work of art created by artificial intelligence (AI).

“If AI hadn’t been included in the competition, I might have tried to take part in the competition, but this time it seemed like a humiliation: competing with a person who didn’t make the slightest effort to create this image,” the 21-year-old from the Czech Republic told Euronews Next.

“One of the reasons I stopped using generative AI is because it is morally wrong. If I continued to use it as an artist, it would be a kind of betrayal. For example, I have spent years learning and improving my skills on my own, and here I am using something that steals the results of the work of others like me.”
