AI job losses could now account for more than 4 percent of the workforce, says the Skills Tsar

The Commissioner of Jobs and Skills Australia predicts the number of jobs lost to automation and artificial intelligence will rise beyond current forecasts of 600,000 as a new government-backed forum to consider rules to protect workers meets for the first time on Wednesday.

Industrial Relations Minister Amanda Rishworth announced the new AI forum at the Australian Financial Review Workplace Summit on Tuesday, but downplayed changes in the labor market in data up to February.
