About a year ago, artificial intelligence was the topic of the moment in the cross-border payment industry. Buoyed by the rise of large language models and generative AI, the technology has been the main source of hype in the industry, with almost daily announcements focused on AI-based solutions and a variety of thinkpieces highlighting the technology’s potential.
A year later, things are a little different. The AI hype is by no means gone – it has barely left the headlines in the broader business world as continued interest in productivity meets growing concerns of an AI bubble.
