Microsoft’s AI boss Mustafa Suleyman has a clear prediction: within 18 months, software could take over a large part of the office workload, from accounting and marketing to project management and legal. The shift is most obvious in software engineering, where models already write a significant portion of Microsoft’s code and are increasingly outperforming human developers as companies from Amazon to Goldman Sachs restructure their teams.
