When we think about applied AI in business, we have many different aspects of approach to choose from. We can study markets to see where the opportunities lie or to solve a customer’s pain points. We can develop something that makes stakeholders or consumers say “Wow.” We can try to predict where things will be in two, five, or ten years, and that’s where thought leadership comes into play.
Or we can use all kinds of jargon. We can look at the application of AI in SaaS B2B situations at the intersection of procurement and ROI. We can think about using 3PL strategy tools in an LLM to port a model distillation game to a platform.
Ok – that’s probably enough of that. Another alternative is to follow what I’ve heard in the conversations currently, in terms of ROI for companies. One of them is the “vertical” market.

So when we talk about a vertical market, what does that mean?
