A nonprofit child safety organization, Fairplay, is urging gift givers to avoid purchasing AI toys for children this holiday season, according to one advisory released on Thursday.
Fairplay and other child and consumer advocacy groups say these toys — toys like stuffed animals, dolls, action figures and children’s robots that incorporate chatbots and other artificial intelligence technologies — can be dangerous.
