After closing co-working space in downtown Rochester, Regus is opening another location on former IBM campus

ROCHESTER — The world’s largest hybrid office/co-working firm closed the doors of its downtown Rochester spaces after an almost three year run, but now it is working on a new northwest location on the former IBM campus.

In September 2023,

Regus, an offshoot of Switzerland-based IWG, transformed an empty 6,000-square-foot spot in

the 318 Commons building

in downtown Rochester into new co-working spaces, private offices and meeting rooms. That space previously housed

a Bremer Bank branch,

which closed in 2022. The majority of the nine-story building at 318 First Ave. SW is leased to the University of Minnesota Rochester. The 318 Commons complex was built by GH Holdings, a Rochester development firm lead by Grant Michelitz and Hal Henderson.

IWG CEO Mark Dixon explained in 2023 why Regus, which had 14 office center spaces in the Twin Cities, was targeting Rochester.
