If you’re using a Fitbit from before 2023 and want to keep your data, you now have until May 19, 2026 to move it to your Google account before it’s permanently deleted. Users who miss the deadline could lose access to key historic data on metrics such as their heart rate, workouts, calorie burn, and sleep time.
If you want to make the jump, open the Fitbit app and sign in to your Fitbit account. Then tap Settings, select Move Account, and follow the on-screen instructions.
If you change your mind, you can cancel until the final step. But once you move your Fitbit to your Google Account, you cannot undo the decision. Google assures users that their Fitbit health and wellness data won’t be used for Google Ads and will remain separate from its advertising systems.
