According to Oracle, there were “no delays” in the OpenAI agreement following the share price drop

oracle on Friday dismissed a report that said the company would complete data centers OpenAIone of its main customers, in 2028 and not 2027.

The delay was due to a lack of workers and materials, it said on Friday report from Bloomberg, which quoted unnamed people. Oracle shares closed down more than 4% on Friday.

“Site selection and delivery timelines were determined and mutually agreed upon in close consultation with OpenAI following the closing of the agreement,” an Oracle spokesperson said in an email to CNBC. “There have been no delays in locations required to meet our contractual obligations and all milestones remain on track.”

The Oracle spokesperson did not provide a timeline for enabling cloud computing infrastructure for OpenAI. In September, OpenAI announced that it had a valuable partnership with Oracle…
