(RTTNews) – Technology giant Oracle Corp. (ORCL), which provides cloud infrastructure to TikTok, reportedly said that a temporary weather-related power outage at an Oracle data center caused the problems faced by US users of the social media app.
Reuters reported, citing Oracle spokesman Michael Egbert’s email, that the challenges US TikTok users may face were due to technical issues that followed the blackout.
Over the weekend, TikTok users in several regions of the US experienced widespread service outages. They complained that they couldn’t log in to the app or load the videos.
The companies said they were working to quickly resolve the major infrastructure problem.
