The day Telegram comes into play Group video calls has finally arrived. In case you forgot, that’s fine. Iit was more than a year since the company announced it was working on the feature. But hey, better late than never, right?

In his Newest blog, Telegram said the latest update to its app would allow group video calling on all devices, including tablets and desktops. Telegram explained that while only audio participants on group calls are unlimited, currently only the first 30 people participating in a group call can turn on video. Nevertheless, the company announced that this limit is expected to be “increase soon since voice chats take over streaming games, live events and more. “

Given how long it took Telegram to roll out group video calling in the first place – it was originally planned to launch in 2020 –we take “soon” with caution.

The company also has a number of other new features for its Group video calls. For example, you can pin a video if you want it to stay in focus as more people with video join the call. Users can also share their camera feed and your screen at the same time. Interestingly, Telegram announced new noise reduction options, with a particular focus on food.

“We’ve improved the noise cancellation in voice chats to keep everyone’s sound crisp and clear, even when you’re eating something crispy. We also added a toggle to turn off noise cancellation in the settingsfor the times when food matters, ”Telegram said.

I mean, I can imagine the company thinking of that with virtual dinners or hangouts in mind. While I’ve never had a bag of chips on a video call with friends, I certainly thought about it. There is no shame in that. Not sure if I would be comfortable eating while on a video call, but it’s nice to have options.

Group video calling hasn’t been the only thing Telegram has introduced in the past few days. The company has also added animated backgrounds to their app, which are gradient backgrounds that are algorithmically generated and move every time you send a message. You can also choose to have your. want to create own background and share your background with others. If you’re a bot fanatic, Telegram added a menu button with it you can browse and send commands to make it is easier to communicate with them.
