Using a VPN is one of the best ways to protect your privacy online. Fortunately, it looks like Google will soon be making it a lot easier to use a VPN on the internet best Chromebooks.
The people at Android police I discovered a code in Gerrit that adds a new “Always-on VPN” function to Chrome OS. While it can take a few weeks for the feature to hit the stable channel, if your Chromebook is on the latest Chrome OS Dev or Canary build, you can enable it now. However, to get started you need a working VPN configuration.
As can be seen in the screenshot above, a new section with the settings has been added under VPN in the Chrome OS settings. Once you enable the new Always On VPN option, your Chromebook will automatically connect to your VPN when you sign in.
