Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. is introducing enhancements to its GreenLake platform with new and expanded features to simplify data, storage, and workload management in on-premises and cloud-based IT environments. The updates include HPE GreenLake Block Storage for AWS, a new version of HPE GreenLake for Block Storage, and an HPE Timeless program offering added protection for HPE Alletra MP block storage.
These updates follow the release of a modular scale-out block storage system in a single operating system based on the HPE Alletra Storage platform introduced three years ago. The new offerings aim to provide a unified and seamless storage management experience for hybrid cloud environments, allowing businesses to manage, protect, and move data across on-premises and AWS servers more efficiently.
The updated HPE Alletra MP platform features cross-stack analytics capabilities to streamline storage management and help users avoid latency issues that could impact workload performance. It can now scale up to 5.6 petabytes with support for up to 16 JBOF expansion shelves. Additionally, the platform offers enhanced data protection with three-site replication and integration with Zerto Cyber Resilience Vault for secure data copies and isolated recovery in the event of a cyberattack.
With performance and capacity upgrades, including support for AMD processors and PCIe Gen5 technology, HPE Alletra MP offers improved density and scalability options for high-performance workloads like AI. The HPE Timeless program aims to transform the storage ownership experience by providing investment protection and cost-saving opportunities for customers using HPE Alletra MP block storage.
HPE also announced new private cloud solutions within HPE GreenLake for Private Cloud Business Edition, offering agile, self-service private cloud management for mission-critical VM workloads. These solutions, including HPE Alletra Storage MP and HPE SimpliVity Gen11, provide access to high-capacity storage and support for virtual machines at the network edge.
Overall, these updates help HPE stay competitive in the storage industry, with innovations in HPE Alletra and HPE GreenLake setting new standards for IT and storage management. According to HPE Storage senior vice president and general manager Jim O’Dorisio, these enhancements provide enterprises with a transformative, platform-based approach to hybrid IT management and data storage.
By continuously evolving their offerings and addressing customer needs, HPE aims to simplify and optimize data management across on-premises and cloud environments, ultimately helping enterprises achieve more cost-effective and efficient IT operations.
